Each project is different but the rates listed at the end of this section provide a guide. All projects will be discussed and specified though email and, if necessary, a free, one-hour phone consultation. Subsequent to consultation a work proposal will be drawn up along with a contract. Depending on the size of the assignment, 1/3 to 1/2 of the estimated charge will be due prior to any work being performed. Depending on the requirements of the project, estimates are subject to revision (with a potential revision to the corresponding upfront money due). Any balance due at the completion of the assignment will be invoiced and payable upon receipt unless arranged otherwise in advance.
Rates vary considerably depending on the nature of the work, the time frame of the assignment, the degree of special expertise required, and other factors. The industry standard for a manuscript page is 250 words.
